This chip hasnt even been released for the PC yet. The geforce 2 costs around £300 at the moment( better models). analysts say the x-box wont make profits until 2005/6. I cant see x-box doing too well.

Have to remember that the Geforce3 chip will ship with the Xbox and this chip costs £249.00 apparently by itself. If that is the case then the console is going to cost more than 300 for certain.
Also Mac's after June are having that graphics chip as standard, and 3 months ago Microsoft said it was for the xBox and PC's only, what else are they lying about, APART from the specs which don't add up! seriously they don't add up!

I'm just pasting what I said yesterday in the "How Much Will the X-Box Cost" discussion on the next page:

Estimates of X-Box cost range between, at the lowest end $300, and at the highest end $500. Now site has yet gone over this $500 mark. At the current rate of exchange this is £205 to £340.

But then we have the Dollar/Pound parity problem with consoles where the rate of exchange doesn't come into it, so a realistic estimate of the UK RRP would probably be £300-£500.

My guess is, bearing in mind Microsoft's 'competitively priced' statement, that we'd be looking at an X-Box with online capability (56k modem included, not the broadband enabled version), for £300-£350 at launch. That's without DVD capability.

The question really should be: "How much would you be PREPARED to pay for the X-Box?"

For me, I'd EXPECT to pay £350 if the 56k modem was included, £50 for DVD capability, so a total of £400 would be my maximum. However, I already have a DVD player so I wouldn't need the extras for DVD capability.

The most I would be PREPARED to pay for an X-Box with online functionality would be £400. Anything over that and I'd have to live with the DC, the PS2, and my PC online.

FM, any views on the price?

Expected that high? Think it's too much? Can we expect a serious answer? :0)

£350??

Oh well, I was thinking of getting it. But, since none of the games I've heard about appeal to me, I think I'll wait to the price goes down.

Anyway, back to WWF Theme Music.

TURN IT UP!!!
