If someone runs infront of you whilst you're driving, and you are in the legal driving speed, doing everything legally, and you hit them (because you cant stop in time), is this your fault (you're the driver) in the eyes of the law?

My sister says it is, but i dont think it can be if you havent done anything wrong.

well jay walkin is american, and its lilegal to jay walk, so its the fools fault for walking.

It would be the pedestrians fault.

Isnt it a case of jay walking?

It's just that this guy in my town saw a lorry coming and thought he could make it across in time and got ran over by the lorry... Stupid fool..

That's not true.

If it was you could throw yourself in front of a car and win everytime.

It depends on the circumstances, pedestrians aren't meant to cross a busy road where there isn't a Zebra crossing anyway.s

That would suck even if they were slightly injured and because of what they did they'll want to seek compensation. The moral of the story is to never drive ever again, that way no one can screw you over.

no its the drivers fault, the moment they put a foot in the road they have the right to cross or somthing like that. learnt it while on a driving lesson the other day.

In the eyes of the law you should reverse over them.
