Bob plans to get a Muvo mp3 playing gizmo, specifically the Muvo2 4 gig model and he was wondering; what's the battery set up with these things? I mean with my traditional CD player it's that you just stick these two long rounded things in and it's all done, but from what I'm picking up they have some kind of internal but extractable battery thingummyjig? And if that's right, how do you charge them? Just from the mains?

I used to understand all this stuff, now I'm just scared and confused by it all.

Ay. I found it to be soo much better than my old 128mb mp3 player with it having 4gb of memory, a shuffle option (i was annoyed my old one didn't), and a radio (with an adaptor)!

I hate players you have to charge. My current one takes AAA batteries - I bought a box full of them over a year ago and I'm only just running out now. I always keep a spare with me, and I'd say each one lasts a good week or so.

My MP3/CD player was terrible, took hours to charge and you only got a couple of hours of actual play time. And you couldn't use it whilst moving... which kind of defeats the purpose of it.

Ah, y'see I replaced my 30gb zen with one of these when the Zen died (a horrible death, involving the headphone socket sinking in to the unit and the backlight and battery failing). Not a problem at all, even with 20gb of MP3s on my hard disk - seriously, I've never found myself wanting to listen to more than a couple of artists, with particularly good tracks by a few others. I'm a little more selective about what I choose, but there's room for well over 1000.

Significantly better battery life, use as a removable drive and small loveliness means this kicks the zen to a small, dark place, in my opinion.

Thanks, that's very useful :)

How can you possibly listen to that much music Cyclone? I mean, I only have 3 gigs worth of mp3s on my comp at the moment and I could cut that back a bit.

Me thinking of replacing my Zen with either an Ipod mini or one of these.....

Trouble is I already have about 4.5gbs of music I'd want on it...

Superb choice, dear Bob. The battery is a single lithium-ion removeable one - meaning you can buy a spare and carry that with you for very long trips, though one charge does tend to last 10 hours +.

Charges via mains or usb. All round, pretty damn good. Trounces that damn apple thingamy anyway ;)
