It's in the rule book. If we started to neglect the offside rule, we would all be on here shouting our heads off as how every goal is offside. It's exactly the same principle.

Watch any match with a decent ref like Collina, players are blasting the ball away, the guy goes up to them, has a quiet word with them and the problem is sorted. Cards stay in pocket, player stays on field and the game doesn't get spoilt. If you can't see how that is the best solution instead of sending the guy off then i really can't put it any simpler apart from putting in coloured crayon on a big piece of paper for you
