Nope, this thread will be far superior to Borat's. Oh yes it will. :)
You see, there are songs out there that can have good lyrics, but in there will be this one line that's just utterly fantastic.
So here's the deal. What is a favourite lyric of yours, and why? And who by/what song, of course.
To get that good ol' metaphorical ball a'rollin', here's a favourite of my own.
Mama, just killed a man,
Put a gun against his head,
Pulled my trigger,now he's dead
It's the simplicity of it that I love. "Pulled my trigger, now he's dead" is just class.
And surely I don't need to put what song.
[S][S]Bohemian Rhapsody, for those who don't know. Shame on you.[/S][/S]
So, gogogo.
"I'm so happy 'cause today i found my friends
They're in my head
I'm so ugly
That's okay 'cause so are you"
Oh so true. ;c)
Drowning Pool :: Bodies
"One, nothing wrong with me.
Two, nothing wrong with me.
Three, nothing wrong with me.
Four, nothing wrong with me.
One, something's got to give.
Two, something's got to give.
Three, something's got to give."
Again, the lyrics are perfect for me. Although that's a little more personal, maybe.
Also, lyrics such as "Better stay on top or life'll kick you in the ass" and "Life is a lesson, you learn it when you're through".
Not really a favourite but it made me go "WTF?!" first time i heard it. DMX is twisted.

Very well sir.
What can you see
On the horizon?
Why do the white gulls call?
Across the sea
A pale moon rises
The ships have come to carry you home
I find this particularly touching as it not only rounds of the Lord of The Rings in a fitting way, but it also somehow brings me a glimmer of hope that my life wont always be fairly gash.
Its by Annie lennox and the song is Into The West from the official return of the king soundtrack, available in all good music stockists now.

You're all a bunch of failures.

My choice was both beautiful and poignant.
Pitiful.
