Bah, this PC at work (with no admin privilidges) just loves me. I can't play multiple tracks using Windows Media Player. I can drag tunes into the playlist section or just highlight multiple files and select 'play', but it doesn't work, it only plays one of the tracks (not necessarily the first alphabetical one, just any one track). this wasn't too much of an issue to start, but it's now getting annoying having to select a new track every time the other has finished. I still have features like Repeat and Shuffle (although there's no point in shuffle at the moment!)...

Ideas?

Hmmm, i've got a stupid problem with Winamp, it's only been happening recently. I used to be able to select multiple songs and open them in the same Winamp window, but now when i select them, they open in individual windows. I'll have to reinstall methinks, not for the first time, i had to reinstall it before when it refused randomly to play MP3's. :S

Nope, can't install WMP9 due to lack of admin rights.

But for some reason, I managed to successfully install Winamp 5 - the only thing that failed with that was the ability to burn cd's - but this machine don't have a writer.

Sorted - I'll just use winamp now - it found my music and has made it all into a playlist for me :D

Yeh, I'll try and upgrade. Most installs are banned by admin though so I might not get lucky.

BTW taka-Q, there is a bar on the left showing the 'now playing', 'media library' etc, but these tabs do not have sub-tabs where the 'all music' option would be selected.

I have selected the option to search the comp for playable media and it only found that stupid demo track from Beck (even after specifying the exact folder to look in), yet the MP3s still work when played one by one...

It does sound like it's knackered though - I'll see what I can do in a bit.

Can I install WMP9 on W2000?

Sounds like your version is screwed, i have a really old version, and it can play .WMA files, as can WMP9 on my other comp, which can also stream music, and so i assume video as well. Best bet is to upgrade it if you can.

I'll have a look tomorrow when I get back into work. Thanks.

I just remembered (this might not be related), WMP will not stream music or video off the web, I need to download it. And it won't play WMA files either(?!).

Again, ideas?

You tried clicking on the little arrow by the Now Playing button and going down to the All Music option? It should play all the music you have ever played in WMP within 1 playlist file.
