Of course I am. I remember Kosovo, I was there. I may be wrong, but the action there sprang from the non cessation of activities by Serbian paramilitaries as wanted by resolutions 1160, 1199, 1203 or something like that.

Net result? The US and UK lie through their teeth about France's voting intentions, and Dubya gets his war along with a manufactured excuse for ignoring the UN. At best, Blair was naive in this instance. At worst, he was complicit.

Yup, he sure is. Which is why I don't believe Blair has any influence on him at all, beyond perhaps what he is allowed to think in order to boost his own credibility (such as remains when blindly agreeing with everything Dubya does; Jesus, even Jack Straw is emerging out of the whole Israel-Palestinian debacle looking like he has more integrity than Blair; Jack Straw!! The man who shopped his own son for smoking dope!!

Things like before Iraq, he went back to the UN, mainly because Blair wanted it, so he does listen sometimes. But as i said, he seems to be more than happy to give those who know better the old two fingers and do his own thing.

That's a nice idea, but unfortunately I think it's based on wishful thinking. Judging by the actions of Dubya since his election, it seems clear he listens to no-one but his neo-conservative advisors.

I believe Blair is sort of like the older, steadying hand of a father figure.
But old Georgey, like many teenagers, gives his papa the old two fingers and does what he wants.

I'm curious; what influence d'you think he actually has? If I'm charitable, I'd say Blair is perhaps making a moral standpoint in that we offered support and we must stand or fall by that offer. As to what influence he has...well, it would seem he has none.

Your probably right.

If i had my way, he would be using his influence on W. He has been getting a little close to him of late. I wasn't happy at all with him saying he accepts W plans with Israel. Wasn't happy at all with that.

Blair's not all bad, but he has seem to have ignored the rest of the country as of late, in order to keep in with GW.

He should be scheming with us and manipulating Mr Bush, not vice versa!
What's more, Georgey wouldn't have sussed him out like we did! ;-D
