Is that true? Where did your information come from?
1. If we were to import then what would that do to our relationship with the likes of Sony and Nintendo (to name but two)?
2. If we don't sell imports then at least people are sure they are buying UK products when they order from us.
I must add that I tiny fraction of the products we sell are imports but normally these are identical to the UK product. i.e. there is no difference. On occassion we have run a special offer marked "no English manual".
If SR had to import our behalf, they would have to pay the shipping costs, then add their markup to the initial cost, making the final product more expensive, but more quickly accessible.
Then of course it all depends on whether you have an imported console that is properly modified to run on the UK mains with a UK PAL system TV.
This last point is the one that puts most people off importing, not to mention the fact that the majority of younger gamers who would make up the bulk of the buyers don't have credit cards to buy over the net with.
