was just trying to get some 'intelligent' opinions on which console to purchase this most lovely game for - narrowed my ever so indecisive mind to my personal computer, or indeed my 'xbox'. Any thoughts, advantages or even random cursing would be much appreciated.

Bear in mind the multiplayer is exactly the same on the PC as on the X-Box they are both only 2v2 on with 3 bots to order about each.
Depends if you like your FPS games mouse-controlled or with a console controller.
Although you can get console style controllers for PCs they're usually not as good as the originals they're based on.
