Again.

I need you to rip this internet package to shreds for me - tell me why it is absolutely crap and so on. The thing is, you see, my dad has set his eyes on it because of the price. But I want a 1MB service (I say "a", as it's likely that if I convince him, I'll steer him clear of Wanadoo).

http://www.wanadoo.co.uk/time/bb_512k.htm

As I said, it's Wanadoo.

Oh, and some useful info; he wants me to, erm, download games for him and stuff. *Ahem*
So that means that the 2GB limit is rubbish. I've used that already, but the thing is, he's not the most technologically minded of people - it doesn't mean much to him.

So the basic thing is, the more of an argument I can provide, and the more technical you can get for me (as he'll assume that, "Oh, that must be bad), the better.

So yeah, the price is the main thing. £17.99 is far superior to the 30 or so for a 1MB service. So that's what I'm trying to work around.

Your help is much appreciated, so cheers.

And thanks NB for expanding really. Oh, and I'll check out the PlusNet site.
Cheers.

Freeserve was bought by Wannadoo, hence the name change.

On topic, I would avoide any capped services, and stick to unlimited. Plus Freeserve has always been a bad ISP in personal experiance.

I suggest PlusNet.

£21.99

Tell him the 2GB cap on the wanadoo service will seriously put a dampner on his regular game downloading.

Explain to him that packages like that are designed for people who very rarely use the internet, but who want to go really fast when they do.

Plus use the whole "They are a bunch of Frenchies", if he's old(er) it might put him off.

Wow, i pay like £2 less than that for my 56k.

But yes, 2GB wont reach very far. You could also say wanadoo is a crap name compared to freeserve, so their service must be worse than before.

Isn't that one of the packages where, if you go over the allowance, you are charged stupid prices per Mb?

If so, isn't that argument enough not to get that package?
