Also, on ebuyer I can see numerous ones that say OEM (No S/W).
What the hell does this mean.
Thanks muchles.
I was thinking of getting http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=52074

But a) that e-bay one looks good, and b) this price drop malarkey makes my brain melt.
What are the benefits of having a duel layered DVD anyway; I thought we could practically fit everything on normal ones. You yourself, CM, said you could fit films on the DVD by simply cutting out the crap that wasn't needed, extra languages and stuff.
So tell me - what's the point?
This is the same unit I have. It's a fantastic drive and I've never had any problems with it (it even over-burns without forcing it to at times!).
It's the best you'll get for that money at the moment, but like Cookie said, a price drop is looming soon - you might want to hold on...
Oh, and there are rumours that the firmware on this drive is upgradeable so it will effectively be a dual-layer writer when the time comes. I can't confirm that though, as I'm still trying to find out myself :D
Hmmm, thats a bit tight. If you wait for the dual layer burners to be released first you may be able to benefit from a price drop.
Huzzah.

Basically they're ones that should've been built into an off-the-shelf system. 'No S/W' = no software.
