Considering Civ 1/2 are just behind Legend of Zelda OOT and Metroid Prime as the best game/s ever made, is Civ III really really really really good or a disappointment?

Nah, I never played CIV 1/2. I only got 3 because I heard 1 and 2 were brilliant.

I loved Civ 2 lots, but I've never really played 3 that much. Had a few goes, but I can't really judge it properly.

I love Civ 3. Haven't played 1 or 2 though. But I do have Alpha Centuri which is apparently similar. And that rocks too.
