No, Herpes, they last your whole life and you can pass them on to your children.

It is just an internship, so it would only last over the summer. Probably.

I didn't know you were a law graduate Duck. Since you are...

What is the maximum penalty for being caught at it in a car?

Why are you bothering to get a job from now til September? Wouldn't your prospective employers be looking for a more permenant candidate?

Ah well, it's sent.

I'd forgotten how hard it is trying to get a decent e-mail address. Maybe I'll go snap up a nice domain before they're all gone too :^s

As for the application? It'll probably be in vain. I actually have a fairly good feeling about it, like thought I wrote a decent covering letter, addressed relevant issues for the job, put in a good, tailored, cv.
But I always feel like that, and the only work I've had in the last year has been cleaning, serving drinks and stacking boxes.

I have another form for some other people to fill in now...

Heh. No, but I'm reasonably happy with my CV. I've had one on the go for a while, and have been fine-tuning it for ages. Plus a lot of it is just factual. So I figure I won't make it too much better.

Unfortunately my printer is playing up, and I don't have a clue what to do about it, so I'll have to e-mail the application. To me it always seems a little less personal, with less effort, that way.

Oh, and I recently realised my e-mail address accidentally sounds like a feeble effort at being funny. So I guess I'll sign up for a new one fist...

But, to be serious, yes it's good. Short, sweet and snappy. Got straight to the point because I'm sure they don't want to read an essay.

Can't comment on your CV though.

This is what I've come up with so far (abbreviation removed!):

Dear -----
I am contacting you to apply for an internship with the [Find your own ;^) ].

As a recent law graduate with a keen political (non-partisan) interest, I feel your internship programme is an excellent opportunity for me gain experience and qualify my interest in a career with the civil service.
During my law degree I studied new policy and legislation from the government for my dissertation, with a focus on the Strategy Unit of the Cabinet office and on the Home Office generally. I feel this gives me an element of experience relevant to the [FYO ¦^D ]'s work.

I am happy to temporarily relocate to London and will be available until mid September, when I will begin a Masters degree.

Please find my CV attached.
Yours faithfully,
Dr Duck
