Damn.

Not by anything remotely as hilarious as the male genitalia but by a speed camera on the off sliproad of the M621.

I actually think that speed cameras do some good and used to think that putting a camera on the sliproad was silly. Now I'm not too sure. Okay, I wasn't concentrating and shouldn't have been speeding but I wasn't going that fast. It's just, where it is positioned, if you don't hit you're brakes immediately you're in trouble.

Sigh. I'm hoping it was a reflection from the sun but I have a sinking feeling that it wasn't :(

Not sure how many times it flashed, I was only aware that it had.

Someone once told me that you get a 10% leeway on the cameras but it is not something I generally test out :)

Damn women drivers ;)

Sleepy did it flash once or twice? I think twice is a warning but can't remember.

Some 30 mph have warning flashes rather than a ticket/points and although 38mph in a 30 zone is 'illegal' it's not 'over excessive' and im sure they program GATSO's with certain criteria/rules.

I didn't know that. It wont make me any less cautious when driving down a road with the cameras on but I'll keep my fingers crossed in this case.

Might be what happened to me once. At the time I thought the reason a fine didn't land on my doorstep was because the camera was for the other side of the road.

They're still effective though :D

They often don't have any film in them, so even if they do flash, you might not get a fine.

Yeah. That's just stupid - well, a cynic could say they've put it there for good monetary reasons...

But come on. If you start to slow up on the motorway as you approach the sliproad, then you're going to have stuff sweeping up behind you.

There's some cameras near me that seem to 'reflect' light, giving the illusion that they have flashed.

Some Gatso's are stupidly placed though...

About 38 mph and I should have being doing 30. You come off the motorway doing 50 and have to apply the brakes immediately.
