Ricky Gervais appealing for the return of leaked Office scripts, calling them a "christmas present for the nation". Oh. Dear. The Office was weak at best. I think he's fallen foul of the BBC's marketing department.

Well Tiltawhirl, maybe you can explain it to me then. Why is the Office not a black comedy?

The Office is about as black as Michael Jackson.

It is genius though.

Go on then, enlighten me. And tell me why the Office doesn't fit the bill.

It's not difficult to watch, it's rubbish. It's too over the top.

The Office IS difficult to watch, but that's because it's a seriously black comedy. The bit last night where Gareth was giving Brent a massage... dear god... and then posing for the photo! I think I almost hid behind the couch.

Of course I do - he produces and directs them too. I used to watch The Friday Night Armistace, I've got all the KMKYWAP episodes, and I'm Alan Partridge, and I've always watched Brasseye and Jam. There you go - a compendium of Talkback's best work. My beef was with The Office, although the second series of I'm Alan Partridge is still difficult to watch.
