Well Well then it appears that Splinter Cell the so called Xbox exclusive was infact a multi platform game from the very beginning and infact the developers actually wanted to make sure they could achieve the same level of detail on the PS2 and GC games otherwise they would have never have started the project.

Infact the PS2 version has extras, that are geared more towards the PS2 user as they demand more and have higher skill level, not my words but the actual developers comments.

Then again I can imagine that it's a hard game for Xbox users because of their poorly designed controllers.

A concept which is beaten to a bloody pulp by the sanity effects in Eternal Darkness, I would imagine.

I was just reffering to the mission where your drunk and the screen goes all wibbly wobbly and blurry _ it was too brief for my liking as it was a breath of fresh air into a standard "drive someone to someplace" mission.

Please tell me what's original in Vice City?

And the really conflicting message is that people scream for originality, and yet when an original game is concieved and put on the shelves, the average consumer goes "Muh" and picks up Unreal Tournament VX Ultra 7 expansion pack 3.4

We give the games developers/publishers conflicting messages. We all scream for new and original games but go out and buy the next installment of a franchise.

What needs to be done is introduce new stuuf via sequals - look at Zelda Wind Waker, its the same old Zelda gameplay but with snazzy (so-called) original graphics.

A good idea for a game is breifly looked at in Vice City and Conkers Bad Fur Day - a game where you feel like your drunk. It would become 'normal' if you played when you were actually drunk.

Sure they complain, but they still buy the sequels, so they're doing themselves no favours.

Ive said it before, I'll say it again - gamers are hard to please.
Initially they seem easy to please - just give them more of what they want (sequels), but then they eventually complain about the lack of variety and originality available.

Not quite.

It's fairly easy to come up with a new idea for a game. But that's not what sells/ If you look in the Sony forum, there are already people jumping up and down about the prospect of GTA4, despite the fact that they know nothing about it.

Sequels sell. People complain about too many sequels, but then, in typical hypocritical fashion, continue to lap them up.

A guess there all guilty then. Much easier to develop a "modification" of an existing idea instead of think up a brand new idea.

YOu're right, I envy the list of games which are developed for PS1 and PS2, for example:

GTA, GTA: London, GTA2, GTA3, GTA Vice City, Tomb Raider, Tomb Raider 2, Tomb Raider 3, Tomb Raider 4 (Enter it's subtitle here), Tomb Raider Chronicles( or something like that), Tomb Raider: Angel Of Darkness.

And that's only 2 series.
