So hey people, a thread about B&W2, seeing as it’s coming out soon and all that. The 7th of October apparently.

I know what most of us are thinking, namely that will they have fixed the massive problems that went with the original Black and White. I mean, I myself could never actually get past the 3rd island, you know, the rubbish one where your creature was taken away from you for no good reason, and you had to resort to lobbing stones at the nearby town in order to gain influence.

And the constant barrage of “We need more wood!” “We need more houses!” I’ll tell you what you need, alright mates? You need a good kick in the face.

But apparently they’ve fixed quite a lot of hat horrible stuff for the new one, plus the graphics are brilliant now. Oh, and your creature can get fat and hunch over and just groan at you, brilliant!

I posted a thread in the tech help forum of lionhead, so far people think it's a memory leak.

My CPU is a Pentium 4 2.4 :(

Aye, it didnt really do anything though :' (

It has to be a game problem, because all my other games work great, and people with totally different systems are having the same problem. Apparently Lionhead are to release a new pacth soon, but they aren't answering peoples' cries of "when!"

And people with crapper CPU's, like the 2600 (don't you have that?) and Radeon 9800's have it working great.

Other people have the problem of it only going to a crap fps after about 40 minutes, but if that was me, i wouldn't be complaining. How hard is it to restart it after 40 minutes?

Have you ran any ram monitoring programs? As i just ran one and it ate 1009mb ram while running which is the majority of all my ram which could be causing the gay fps due to a memory leak if there is one.

I just checked every graphics setting for mine and my FPS is the same on all so what ever the problem is we both have it.

Have you tried the PCI latencey fix suggested on the lionhead website?

No it's Not the CPU. A 3000+ may not get super duper fps, but it's going to be a bit better than about 12 frames average.

And seeing as people with 3500+'s and higher are having the same problem..

I'm sure it's your CPU nash old chap as performance wise it's pretty much the same as mine and i know for a fact that there is nothing i can do to increase the performance short of overclocking, my CPU is bottlenecking in a few games and i'm assuming yours is too.

Sure they will probably optimise the code a little in the next patch or 2 but the time of our CPUs is over. mines given me a good 2 years.

Nash, I suggest you look at some of the topics on the official BW2 boards. You might have done already, but this one in particular might help:

And for anyone who is having any graphics issues:

Hmm i guess it could game code but try setting your settings to max and see if the FPS difference is.

Are you getting juttery play? Just i have low FPS but it's smooth. hat are you using to view your FPS? i used fraps.

What drivers you using nash? Just the nvidia 81.84's are best for BAW2.

I doubt it. I tried it on my old computer with the same settings and it got exactly the same fps. And my old computer was:

1.5 Ghz
756 SDRAM (eurgh)
Radeon 9200
