Opinions of this album, anyone?

As expected, I don't think it's as good as the first album. I'm not saying it's a bad album (it's better than most things out there) it's just Deloused was such a difficult CD to better.

If your planning to buy Frances then don't expect it to be the same as Deloused. They've made that album already, there's no point in doing it again. Instead it's a much darker, more sinister album with all the things you love from The Mars Volta. There's some truly fantastic songs and some catchy Spanish lyrics mixed in to spice things up a bit more.

The more I listed to it, the more I love it (as with Deloused).

I'll buy MV when I get some money, just could have got it earlier if I didn't order Ill Communication.

So many albums out/coming out soon. :(

Er ... having a look now, and mine are totally, obviously wrong.
There's 2 lists to choose from from the database - both of which have Cassandra Gemini into about 10 parts ... which it isn't. And the other's got 2 tracks the same listed there.

But by look at things, I'm assuming it should go:

1. Cygnus ... Vismund Cygnus (all 4 parts on one track)

2. The Widow

3. L'Via l'Viaquez

4. Miranda that Ghost Just Isn't Holy Anymore, Part A "Vade Mecum"

5. Miranda ... Part B "Pour Another Icepick"

6. Miranda ... Part C "Pisacis (phra-men-ma)"

7. Miranda ... Part D "Con Safo.

8. Cassandra Gemini, part A "Tarantism"

9. Cassandra Gemini, part B "Plant a Nail in the Navel Stream"

10. Cassandra Gemini, part C "Faminepulse"

11. Cassandra Gemini, part D "Multiple Spouse Wounds"

12. Cassandra Gemini, part E "Sarcophagi"

That looks about right.
Do you have 2 tracks that are under a minute on the end?

Okay ... scratch that ...
Looking at the lyrics in the booklet and comparing to track numbers ... it seems that all parts of Miranda ... are in one lump on the 13 minute track.

And then, the other 8 tracks that show up are all of Cassandra Gemini. You'll see that on track 5, the lyrics match up with those next to the Cassandra Gemini page.

So this list I've got is true - parts A, B and C of Cassandra Gemini are spread over 2 tracks each. D and E have one track each.

And that's that.
Despite it being stupid.

I think the first 5, including the first part of Cassandra Gemini, are all individual.

Anyway. Different to DITC, obviously. I think the actual structure has thrown me at first - it seems very compressed, despite the actual length. Not as good yet.....but some of it is just insane. Needs more listening I reckon.

Cassandra Gemini isn't a seperate part in it's own right. Otherwise there'd be 13 tracks.

Like I said, it took me a good 6 or 7 all-the-way-through listens of Deloused for me to like it. So I'm casting no definite judgement just yet.

Just stick Cassandra Gemini in front of Tarantism.... onwards, and you have it.

Else CG wouldn't exist, when it clearly does.

Stupid MV, they make it too confusing.

But I love them so.

Well ... you'd have to stick CG infront of all of those last tracks, then.
