I, as I've said, am building a PC and it's going to be Socket A. Now, looking at all the processors, I'm confused.
What makes a 3000+ better than a 2600+ except like 200Mhz diff. in clock speed?
AMD Athlon XP2800+ 2.083 GHz Socket A 333MHz, 512KB Barton, BOXED
AMD Athlon XP2600+ 1.917 GHz Socket A 333MHz, 512KB Barton, BOXED
What should I look for? My mainboard, by the way, is a pcchips M848ALU.
Thanks N.B
The only thing that makes one AMD Barton better than another is clock speed. The actual difference in clock speed is less than the difference in PR ratings though. The difference between them is slight, somewhere in the region of 10% at most. Get the faster one if the difference is also slight.
