How much of my depression is mine and how much is theirs? I am surrounded by people who don't understand me. I am an artist with mind poised toward the future. They are workers and family people, locked in the here and now. Conflict is inevitable. But who is sicker - me for chasing a future that never arrives or them for clinging to a present that is fleeting?
Why can't I enter normal forums to find a chat mate? The only ones that can be counted on to lend an ear are health care professionals. That is sad - sadder than I will ever be.

It's good to look forward to a future, just don't rely on it.
And it's fine enjoying the present, so long as these people make sure they keep a future coming.
Live and let live and just enjoy life for your take of it.
Stop worrying about there having to be just one way to live and instead of needed an exact match for friends, just make with what you have in common with your current aquantances.
