"Day of The Jackalope" - a dirty, funky cross between Tom Waits & The Meters. A song about a cross-bred demonic righter-of-wrongs.
DAY OF THE JACKALOPE
Well, my senses are sharpened
I'm half in the bag
I got a Cheshire smile and
A five cent rag.
Day of the jackalope
Abandon all ye faithful
Abandon all ye hope
Abandon all ye faithful
It's the day of the jackalope
Well, I heard about your problems
With your old man
Well, he's a non-issue
As fast as I can
Day of the jackalope
Abandon all ye people
Abandon all ye hope
Abandon all ye people
It's the day of the jackalope
Well, the leaves blow in circles
In my footsteps
Like the mouth of a river
I have no regrets
Day of the jackalope
Abandon all ye people
Abandon all ye hope
Abandon all ye people
It's the day of the jackalope

Guild of Mute Assassins - a 1000lb Gorilla of a song. Starts slow and thumping, your glass of water shaking on the desk a la Jurassic Park.
Stomps in beligerantly, groans the verse before thumping it's chest and bellowing the chorus.
If you like mid-paced, bowel-shakingly bass-heavy thunderous songs then check it.
Guild of Mute Assassins
Organ grinder's henchmen shaking their coins in time-
"Guild of Mute Assassins will convene at a quarter to nine."
Behind the court house atop a scaffold stands a man with a bag for a face,
"You will not have learned until I return to give my executioner the chase."
The swinging of its censers, the silence of its members
Oh, the Guild of Mute Assassins
From the places in-between that are so seldom seen
Oh, the Guild of Mute Assassins.
Widow in the furrow with thimbles hasn't seen her face in years
Kneels into a puddled reflection to find it is just as she's feared.
In the Garden the Archangel, sword above his head,
"You will not return until you have learned what you've forfeited."
The swinging of its censers, the silence of its members
Oh, the Guild of Mute Assassins
From the places in-between that are so seldom seen
Oh, the Guild of Mute Assassins.
Baby on a threshold with silver. Breath rises from its lips
Beam of yellow light from a doorway and the figure of a silhouette.
In the cradle a wood stiletto rattles like a barrel of bones.
Another journeyman with passion silently recites the oath.
The swinging of its censers, the silence of its members
Oh, the Guild of Mute Assassins
From the places in-between that are so seldom seen
Oh, the Guild of Mute Assassins.

Buuuttt recently I found the Clutch CD you made for me eons ago, hurbloodyzah. Now residing in my car.
As for albums, any decent places to get them on the web?
Does this mean I'll be a "aww maannn, they're soooo kewel" if I like them?
Like you said, slowly thumping - yeah, I like. The slowly chured out solo midway is great too.
Nice recommendation, definitely a thumbs up.
And by the way, the quality is perfect, so no worries there.
I also forgot to mention I like the thumping drumming. Hurrah.

To give an idea of the difference between Clutch & bands like Metallica?
Their new album was leaked about a month early, and people were trading copies on the message board.
The Official message board.
Trading copies of a leaked album.
And the bands attitude? "Don't care", courtesy of the drummer JP in the same thread.
Why they dont care?
Because their fans support Clutch by buying the CDs and going to the shows, we just wanted to hear it early. So everybody that got a copy agreed to post a webcam pic of themselves with the purchased version on release-day. And did so.
Top band that really, really should get more exposure than they do.
> that downloading sites got nothing ive ever heard of before on it!
...
Glad it's Guild of the Mute Assassins you can download - sounds good.
If it decides to take ages to download, I'll just leave it to it and report back tomorrow.
Oh, and I've a feeling it may be good quality, as it's a pretty large file. So here's hoping.
