I am going to buy a new tv, and there are widescreen tvs and normal ones, now I know that dvd's will be better on the widescreen tv, also games with widescreen option, but what about games without widescreen option, will they be elongated when playing on widescreen tv or what ?

... or you can squash the picture slightly and lose bits off the top and the bottom.

No they'll just put black borders up the sides of the screen.
