Everyone who plays any sort of videogames gets stuck and then is tempted by the sweet smell of the 'superjump' or the 'infinite lifes'. After all we are only human and when us humans have an idea in are brains we kind of stick to it. Cheats are like a beautiful smelling flower and we are the bee, the flower is filled with pollen and we need this pollen to help us with are work.

Rarely is there a game which cheats aren't used on, Goldeneye was a game which had cheats but they must be obtained for the gamer to use them, and then with the cheats activated the gamer could not complete the level. Everyone wanted the cheats were you didn't have to gain them, you didn't have to obtain them and then after 18 months of Goldeneye being released the cheats for the game were released to the public, all Goldeneye owners swarmed around them and like a bee collecting its pollen, the gamer used the cheats to there advantage.

Like myself most gamers will deny using cheats and say 'I don't need them', well 'most gamers' like myself LIE, they use the cheats to have a laugh, to speed up the completion process.

People say it is wrong to use cheats, it is wrong to be aided, but the fact of the matter is that its completely up to the gamer whether or not he uses the cheats. Just because you don't like to use them doesn't mean others don't.

What I say is enjoy the game how you want.

Cheatin ruins the game. I only cheat on games I don't intend to complete. I bought Turok 2 so I could kill bad guys not so I could complete it so I cheated. Meanwhile Turok 3 I intended to complete so I didn't.

I was tempted to cheat in Conker but I didn't and after completing it I am really happy I didn't. I used a solution in Zelda Ocarina of time. After completing Majora's Mask without one I knew I would of enjoyed ocarina of time much more I if hadn't of used one.

Cheats are the same you lose the satisfaction, you don't feel proud that you completed the game only sorry that you had used cheats. So I wouldn't cheat (Unless they are fun cheats like play as Neo Conker in deathmatch) as it takes away part of the game so using cheats, cheats you out of enjoying the game much more.

Here's to the future

Personally cheating takes something away from the sence of achievment you get for completing a game.

I know I could never use a cheat to help defeat a game, it just wouldn't be right, it's like using a calculator when you're told not to, you don't learn anything that way.

If you can defeat a game without cheating then you've overcome the challenge set by the developers. ALL games are beatable, you just have to perservere at them, WORK at them, and LEARN how to beat them.

Using a cheat just because you are stuck is a quick fix that takes all the work, learning and achievement away from your gameplay, and you gain nothing buy it excpet for getting to the end of the game quicker.

The only time I'd use a cheat is if I'd finished a game 2 or 3 times already, using my own gaming skills, and then wanted something to add to the gameplay for the next time I played, which some cheats allow. Like level jumps, I could then play my favourite levels over and over, or like unlimited ammo I could then have more fun than normal, and play the game again in a much different style.

But the point is, I managed to overcome that challenge unaided, which using a cheat wouldn't allow me to do.

why not just ask someone here or look at a walkthrough on the net, if you are stuck on a level.

To cheat or not to cheat, you say er-no? Well, I would say cheat.

Cheating is good, but many people don’t do it because they think they are cheating. Well you are, but if your stuck on a certain level, and you are really stuck on it, then why not use some cheats to help you along?

I liked Goldeneye’s style of cheating the best.
