I've brought the topic of drum kits up before, and now I'm doing it again.
I'm aware both kits do not come with the great number of drums and cymbals, but it's going to be the first kit I get, and i'm starting from the bottom.

When the Offspring first started out, at a school Battle of the Bands, the drummer (Due to a favour from his mate's mum who worked at a hospital) used human bones as drumsticks. Rock. On. \m/ (^ ^) \m/

Urkie, I envy you.

I simply need the space to put a kit, and that's it. Unfortunately, there's no room whatsoever.
Gah.

I still rule, though.

Snapped a stick in half? I've snapped the end of a few off but never in half. Well done.

And i want a new drum kit. The one i have now sucks incredibly badly... I don't even have a ride. Playing at my first gig on friday should be fun without one. Unless i can get my parents to buy one before then :D

Any one any idea on what i should go for?

Need a new crash aswell by the look of it

I ended up buying the Session pro kit.

Incredible.

It's all I needed, instead of the costly premier kit. It's great value, and Everyone considers the kit to be great. It really is.

I saw a band once, from a poor village, who used discarded toxic waste drums. By the end of the gig the mosh pit had turned into a cross between that scene from Robocop and Dawn of the Dead.

Fair play to the band though, they managed to get through most of their set as they melted. They managed to get quite far through the stage too.

The janitor wasn't best pleased as the Toxic Town Teen Ten poured into his broom cupboard.

That picture's terrifying.

I have so far:

1) Slashed my finger open and continued to drum without realising, splattering blood everywhere
2) Smashed my face in twice
3) Pretty much destroyed my tom heads
4) Snapped a stick in half

I rock

If you can afford it and know you'll stick with it, go for the 1st one - Premier make damn good kits and the quality is assured.
The Session-Pro is something I've never heard of, but if you're starting out from scratch and have never played, then go for it.
It's a 3rd of the price and you won't need Premier quality to learn to play.

It's like buying a Jaguar before you've even started taking lessons.
Go for the cheaper one until you know you like to play and will stick at it, then sell it and trade up.
Failing that, get the Premier kit and go wild.
And just because I like to, here's a professional pic of my kit:

Mapex M-Series in Transparent Honey Amber finish.
