It's so blatant that Leeds are going to be on the end of a drubbing today, with Souness saying it's the 'biggest game' he's been involved in...
And just when I thought it was possible for Leeds to rise out of teh mire, as well.
> bet they beat aresnal too!
you're on
But my team won.
So i rule.
They may still be only 18th in the league (level-on-points with the 2 teams above them, however...), but it's another confidence-boosting victory that is surely gonna keep their spirits high for their next league game, at least; as it all comes down to these last 6 games, with 18 points still to be earnt by Eddie Gray's side.
On-loan Steven Caldwell got his first goal today, I see. One thing I like most about the current Leeds side (aside from Alan Smith) is in the "old-skool" way they seem to play, under Gray. They don't play fancy, continental stuff like the United's, Chelski's and Arsénal's of today's game - they simply don't have the players for it.
When the team goes forward, they go forward together and keep their shape. When it all goes to their defence, they defend together; as a whole unit, rather than just a single-line. When they retain possesion, it's a simple HOOF upto the other end. None of this fancy 'pass-and-move' business that can force shakey characters into all-sorts of chaos.
Most importantly (and, ironicaly, for today), they'll do all they can to take what they can from each much-valued set-piece in the opposing half. They play a very defensive game, and so, know they have to take EVERY chance they can get, near to opposition's goal. So well-worked... No mistakes are allowed.... That is why we've seen players like Dominic Matteo, Michael Dubbery and - like today - Steve Caldwell on the scoring-sheets on more-than-one occasion, this season.
Very simplistic and very effective, for the limitations they have.
I have a good feeling Leeds United are gonna stay-up, given the recent rising of the lost-and-now-found self-confidence in each-other.

No it isn't, you cretin. You think it is, because of your constant spamming of it. But strangely enough, it isn't, nor has it ever been.
