Beyond doubt however, is individually they were four massively talented musicians and songwriters, the only group in the world in which each member can lay claim to having written a No. 1 song, but collectively as Queen, they were unique.

Queen's debut album is loaded with religious references though make no mistake, it doesn't detract from it's early 70's glam rock roots. Queen were often dumped into that ?genre? of music but the ?glam? part ended with their look. Their sound, however, was in large part, influenced by Led Zeppelin. This is clear in the heavier tracks ?Son and Daughter? and ?Great King Rat?. As was often the case, Queen threw several types of music into one album. Keep in mind that the band only had ?down time? to record this album, meaning that they could only record when older, more established artists, had finished for the day. Queen could only then begin recording in the early morning hours, preventing them from having a truly cohesive track listing.

Greatest Hits is Queen's best and most successful compilation. It contains seventeen songs from the 1970s and the beginning of the 1980s, and is one of the most successful British albums of all time, spending an incredible 553 weeks on chart. Though their albums are normally patchy, Queen were without doubt one of the greatest ever singles groups; proven by this collection. None of the tracks are bad; in fact, almost all are excellent. Bohemian Rhapsody, Killer Queen, Don't Stop me Now, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Somebody to Love, Play the Game, Bicycle Race and We are the Champions are amongst the best. Its astounding success reflects Queen's continuing popularity, and it is a clear indication that Greatest Hits is one of the best loved British compilations ever. It was released in 1981, and was still in the charts in 1996! The definitive Queen record.

5. Loser In The End, The 11. Seven Seas Of Rhye
6. Ogre Battle
This is the definitive collection of songs from the 70's and 80's by Queen, possibly one of the best bands in the world. Greatest Hits part II is a collection of some of the best songs the band ever recorded. More modern than the first, this collection is compiled of songs that most people will know, but will have probably forgotten who sung it. Songs such as 'Headlong', 'I want to Break Free', 'Invisible Man' and 'Miracle' to name but a few are featured on the album. I think that it is a fantastic compilation of songs, though I may be biased, as I have been a hue fan of Queen ever since I can remember. This is undoubtedly one of the better collections, even, I think, beating the first Greatest Hits album. This is Queen as they were in their prime, and it is well worth a listen, as you will be more than pleasantly surprised by it.
4)Queen-Greatest Hits Volume 3
1. Show Must Go On (feat. Elton John) 9. Driven by you
2. Under Pressure - rah mix'99 (feat. David Bowie) 10. Living on My Own

4. Too Much Love Will Kill You 12. Great Prentender
5. Somebody to Love (feat. George Michael) 13. Princes of the Universe (Wyclef Jean featuring Pras Michel & Free)
6. You Don't Fool Me 14. No One but You
7. Heaven for Everyone 15. These are the Days of our Lives
8. Las Palabras De Amor 16. Bonus track: Thank God its Christmas
Surely there couldn't be any more hits to fill a 3rd greatest hits!!! Well, yes and no. Almost in parts a tribute to Freddie and the boys considering the number of "guest" performing like Elton John on a live version of "The show must go on", George Michael on "Someone to love" and "Pras Michael" raps over "Another one bites the dust. Add a few of Freddie's solo stuff "Living on my own" , "Great pretender" and his wonderful operatic duet with Montserat Cabelle on "Barcelona" and you get the feeling the compilers were running out of songs. Queen songs that scrub up well are "Too much love can kill you", originally sung by Brian May, the groove based "You don't fool me" and a hark to old times with "Let me live". The new version of "Under pressure" is pretty ordinary though. Fans will definitely lap it up, other may think twice but there is enough here to enjoy for the casual fan
5)Queen-Queen Rocks
1. We Will Rock You 10. Keep Yourself Alive
2. Tie Your Mother Down 11. Tear It Up
3. I Want It All 12. One Vision
4. Seven Seas Of Rhye 13. Sheer Heart Attack
5. I Can't Live With You (1997 'Rocks' Retake) 14. I'm In Love With My Car
6. Hammer To Fall 15. Put Out The Fire
7. Stone Cold Crazy 16. Headlong
8. Now I'm Here 17. It's Late
9. Fat Bottomed Girls 18. No-One But You (Only The Good Die Young
Queen Rocks is an interesting mix of some of Queen's more upbeat, rocky songs. I was surprised to find another Queen compilation CD on the market and was extremely skeptical at first (I had listened to all the Greatest Hits CDs and thought they were wonderful). I had previously seen Queen compilations marketed as the "Best of Queen" or other such rubbish, containing only a few hits....I was pleasantly surprised with this little offering. This CD is guaranteed to get your heart beating and your vocal chords singing along to these wonderful tunes. I would especially recommend this CD as an in-car album as it contains the sort of music needed to get you through the day on the M25! In all honesty, this is a fabulous mix....if you already have the greatest hits, it contains a lot of repeats, but otherwise it's a wonderful introduction to the greatest rock band that ever lived!
