My collage has put up rm saftey net (firewall) to prevent people from playing games and stuff on the computers.
They also blocked off any anonymous proxy sites and you can't download anything onto the computer so software is out.
can anyone tell me how i can bypass the firewall or give me any hint/tips.

Yup. I have this at school.
Go to Google and Click on Language tools. Scroll down to 'translate this webpage' and put in your URL there. It works. And you get a good sense of self satisfaction. :)
