Every time a bond film is released there is the traditional bond theme to be released. Many famous singers are on the list having contributed to the Bond series including Tina Turner, Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey. Here is the list of my three favourites:
1) In first place is Lulu’s from the Man with the Golden Gun.
This is a fast little number from one of my favourite Bond films. Is not generally classed as a classic with the likes of Goldfinger but has a bit more energy than some of the others in the series.
2) In second place is Paul McCartney and Wings with Live and Let Die.
Again this is a faster and more popular song than some of the others and is McCartney at his best.
Also it is from possibly the best Bond film.
3) Finally it is the theme to The Living Daylights by A-Ha. This is a great pop song and would be good even if wasn’t a Bond theme.
A close runners up was Carly Simon with Nobody does it better but I think these three jut beat her.
My vote for worst theme has to be Tomorrow Never Dies by Sheryl Crow. It was quite a tough one as there are several songs challenging it including Thunderball by Tom Jones and Moonraker by Shirley Bassey but it has to be Sheryl’s song. Normally she’s quite good but this one is pretty awful but to be fair it must be difficult to write a song with Tomorrow Never Dies as the title.
This is not going to be the decision of all of you as there is no mention of Goldfinger or Diamonds are forever but these are my favourites.
dum diddy dumdum di di di, dum diddy dumdum di di di. da da dadada.
The main theme!
The Propellerheads reworking of it was very good too.
That Duran Duran song that was in View To A Kill is good, you know the one, it goes "Dance, into the fire" etc, but that wasn't the actually theme song, was it?
