We all got fed up with 2D games. We never thought they were bad but after a while we got fed up with seeing the same ol 2D games and the industry started to go into a decline.

Then came the Playstation and Nintendo 64 and the 3D games opened up new opertunities new prospects. 3D may last much longer (with Nintendo, Sega and to some extent Sony making more original 3D games) than 2D did but after a while we will want something different again.

What then well virtual reality obviously and this will be a big thing for an extremely long time. But like 2D and 3D before it we will most probably want more again.

So what is after Virtual reality? Well quite worryingly...

Reality! Instead of shooting our friends using a toy gun in a virtual world we will want to do it for real. If World War 3 is supposed to be a nucular but we may go back to the days of soldiers instead of bombs.

Not for land or an empire but for fun!

Could the future of gaming be a bleak one! Could our desire for fun take it so far that we will go to war?

Here's to the future
