Defoe is better than:

Heskey
Vassell

Yet he's taking them to Portugal and NOT Defoe.

Oh how I hate you.

THis comes a day after he urges Larsson to go. Mmhmm very patriotic.

Why?

If he was even ready to CONSIDER such a thing as

How do you *actually* know he was? I mean apart from swallowing all these rumours you dont actually have any *firm* evidence have you?

I still believe he's only USING us. He doesn't really give a tosh; he

My lord. I sincerely hope that was a joke, yes? Sven cares about this job enough to put up with a barage of non-sensical crud from muppets like your honourable self and the "lets get another england manager sacked cos we can" newspapers. To be honest im suprised he even bothers. 1 competitive loss to the best team in the world in 3 years of management and he has to put up with this?? In any other country he would be a messiah.
I heard a scottish fan on a radio phone-in show saying we English have a habit of shooting ourselves in the foot and we very nearly are right now. You watch us go downhill if he leaves...

I was convinced you knew your football Solskjaer but your post reeks of trollness.

Vassell is a good player and still young. He's got pace and is able to liven up the game as shown in a few of his England appearences.

Yes he scored passed Turkey, but he's also Englands 3rd leading goalscorer behind Owen and Beckham since the World Cup started back in 2002. He also has on played 90 minutes in 1 of those games, which says to me he deserves his place in the England squad.

He's a super sub, just like Soljkaer was at United.

This was very much the case last year when turnip taylor was in charge of Villa, he was treated like cr@p really considering his talent - always played Dublin ahead of him (god knows why).

However he's looked much more like the part this year under O'Leary - as have the other players (Hmmmm i wonder why??)

If i remember correctly he's been injured for quite a long period this season, which is the reason for lack of goals.

Vassel? Heskey? Defoe?

Sod it - Alan Smith's better than them all!

...But, yes, of course Jermain Defoe posseses more of the quality to be part of our national side than Villa's "But, but but... He scored 'gainst Turrrkaaay!!!11!" Vassel. :P

And, to me, Sven's a ca'ack anyway. I'd still be very surprised to see him in-charge this time next year - whether we do well in Euro 2004 or not... If he was even ready to CONSIDER such a thing as ditching us for Chelski, then, what does that make of this so-called "faith" and "trust" we're all supposed to have on him, eh?!

It makes me feel quite sick how people seem able to forgive him so easily, so quickly, in the wake of his recent meeting with Peter Kenyon.

I still believe he's only USING us. He doesn't really give a tosh; he just needed something "easy" to kick-start his career after Lazio took a slide for the worse - and, ironically, here comes Chelsea! Are we really any better than we were with Keegan or Hoddle? NO. We are NOT!

So, you agree with me then?

Sven has quite rightly decided Jermaine Defoe will have no place in Euro 2004, full credit to the Swede. Maybe Defoe will go to World Cup 2006, but not before then, but 'his time will come'.

First off a one legged, blind midget would be better upfront than Heskey so that doesn't really matter, however Darius Vassell while maybe not having a brilliant season in domestic competition has shown when it comes to the international stage he can get it done. Defoe hasn't because he doesn't have the experience yet and a major competition isn't exactly the best place to go chucking in him seeing as we want to win the thing and don't want to have to worry about an unproven striker upfront.

In a few years i can see maybe Defoe leading the England attack but right now there are better, proven players

Defoe hasn't been given the opportunity to show what he can do for England, if he had been given the same chances as Heskey and Vassell we would be seeing Defoe go to the championships.

Unfortunatly it hasn't happened therefore Sven has decided to go with the strikers he has chosen for many months now. Rooney and Owen are probabaly his first choice striker force (however cack Owen is playing at the moment)

Defoe is young and his time will come.

Vassell is suddenly good when wearing an England shirt, and has scored quite a few goals. Heskey is a great foil to Owen, and recently he's actually been scoring. Defoe has one good game and all of a sudden he should be in front of players that have proved their worth in the qualifiers?
