when i get songs onto my computer in wma format from my cds, even when i stop all music and other applications, i still get up to 10+ seconds of the previous song.

because of my constant idiotic state, this often confuses me, or pishes me off.

1) is there a downloadable program which allows me to cut the begining and end seconds of the song?

2) a way to copy them properly, without this bit?

3) will this irritation appear on an mp3 player?

Oh yeah, but I don't have an mp3 editor (Don't know if they exist in the same way as a weav editor), and to hack a sample out of a track to loop it's far easier. I just delete the wav onced finished.

I.e

Pearls girl -> 700Mb+ wav
Open it in wav studio
Hack a section out to loop
resave possible 10 mb wav
edit and loop to make sure its fine
Convert back to < 100Kb MP3
Upload to phone.

Sorted :)

I use Mp3 workshop to rip cd's into wav format, "creative wave studio" (free with my sound card) to cut and edit, and back into MP3 workshop to convert the file back to an mp3 for use as ringtones.

You can use Nero wave editor if you have Nero to trim them, if not you can download a program like Cool Edit Pro, but you'll have to find that yourself.
