Fantastic little thing.
A little plastic container filled with special gel, which lets ants dig their little tunnels for everyone to see.
My brother got one for his birthday towards the end of last year, and we've only recently been able to capture some ants to put in there (we could have sent off for a free phial of ants from Italy(!) but if they got caught in customs we may have been arrested for animal smuggling).

We had captured ten ants and put them in. One escaped because someone didn't close the lid properly after looking at them (many fingers of blame were pointed at various people without the true culprit found). Since then one has died and slowly fallen to pieces and the other 8 have continued to dig their tunnels. They started off slowly, just all huddled up in one corner, but after a few hours they were very active.

If you or someone else has a birthday coming up, it's an ideal little gift, full of educational value and fun for all the family.

I've seen this before. The reviews had me laughing my ass off.

"This is the second review I have written, but this device is absolutely the best thing ever invented. I am so attached to my four flatmates, I've had their names tattooed on my arm, next to little ant caricatures of them. I can't tell you how much I want to be an ant and just bust around their tunnels with them. I've been praying to Jesus to reincarnate me as an ant. If he agrees, I'm going to jump off the roof of my flats. It is going to be awesome."

Josh, Bournemouth

"Well, I bought this heavenly device and have spent endless hours watching the little fellas burrow around in joy. I've started to train them to do tricks - I even reward them with sweet treats. I have started to feel like they are family and wept so hard when the first one died. I named him and cremated him in a box of matches, and so his spirit would live on I rolled him in a blunt and smoked his ashes until I was visiting him in ant heaven. Thank you so much for providing me with so much joy."

Brilliant, I now know what to get for my Mum's next birthday.

Except I can't stand ants... Insect-phobia. Or whatever.

Still, it's blue, can't really fault the antiquarium.

That actually looks quite good...

Might be tempted to get one.
