My sister lent me this film, and for once I had to agree with her that it was a good one. (Normally is she recommends a film a try to avoid it like the plague).
From Dusk till Dawn was an eye opener though. I had no preconceptions about the film before watching it (to be honest I hadn't heard of it until I read the back of the box) but what a great surprise!
George Clooney playing one of the meanest characters you could ever wish for, pure menace. Normally I had him down as a bit of a 'softie', but this film really changed my opinion of him.
Although it may be a bit slow to start, as soon as they reach the canteena the film really starts to kick off, with more blood and guts flying about than even Blade managed to rustle up. There was me thinking this was a road movie or something like that :-).
So George has now gone up in my estimation as one of my favoured actors. He's now up there in my top 20 somewhere, along with Robert De Niro, Jean Reno et al.
..then theres Salma H and she does her dance the next thing Quentin Tarentino takes total control of the film and then blood and guts are flying everywhere, complete chaos, but fun. A truely original film due to the way the movie completely changes direction half way.
Then he was in One Fine Day, then Batman and Robin. Hope was fading fast for him, I thought.
Then I saw Three Kings, and he was alright again :-)
FDTD is a fantastic movie.
Loved the way it changed from a road movie to a vampire flick.
Harvey Keitel was great in it too.
