Thoroughly enjoyable, gloriously violent and gory, characters I couldn't give a damn about, and every cliché going.
Magic. Never enjoyed a movie so much for a long time.
Funniest bit is either a toss up between the chainsaw "bus zombie removal" section, or when her partner at the start is chasing the car. He's in the back window, running like a lunatic, until he sees a "normal" where he veers off to attack them and totally ignores her.
*************SPOILER(S)**********************
One question though. If the bite is the source of the people turning into zombies (The people shot don't return remember) then why is the girls head that Steve has killed earlier, animated?
A nice and nihilistic ending finishes the movie off really nicely IMHO.
It was my most favourite movie ever. Only because I'm a massive fan of the trilogy.

On a superficial level, but Day of the Dead was more concerned with vivisection, and attempts to "tame" the zombies.
"you're giving me nothing more than a mouthful of GREEK SALAD" (or something like that)
Start of in city with zombies? Check.
Go to dodgy army barracks where the dodgy soldiers get munched by Zombies? Also a check.

Oh god aye. When I watch a zombie (or zombie style movie, al la 28 days) I want to see the end of civilisation, gratuitous gore, inventive deaths, explosions and people being ripped apart.
28 days later is the kid in the classroom, quite and thoughtful, interested in exploring a few new ideas. The DOTD remake is the school bully. Monobrowed, knuckledragging and vicious but far more fun when creating mayhem. ;)
“Go for Burt Reynolds”, Genius.
The bit where Ana smashes through her bathroom door and stumbles into her bath, sitting there shellshocked, was the best scene in the film.

*shrugs* you're going to get similarities in any 'apocalyptic' zombie flick, but I felt that there were enough to justify a comparison to "28 Days Later"
:¬P
