calf injury, might make it but doubtful. This team squad has about 200 caps between them now! Gareth southgate (56), Phill neville (45 hohohohohohoohhooh remember when we where desparate in the mid 90's!) Emile heskey (39), nicky Butt (32), and stevie gerrard (who only has 21 caps) have, and off them only one should be starting on a regular basis for england!
Captain for Wednesday i reckon the order of preference will be:

For me it has to be:
Robinson, 2nd half Green (just to give him a run) (walker is crap, james is first choice)
Danny mills right back (again desparation)
Tezza
Sarrffgate
Left back, although in experienced and not left sided i'd be tempted to play gardner, quick bean pole who needs experience, its a friendly anyway)
Wright phillips (long over due call up)
Gerrard
Parker/Jenas (best aggressive options in a unorthodox squad/need more games for england)
Thompson (may as well last chance to test) he's 31 which is a bit crap
Defoe (quick and can score, overdue again)
Rooney (not a huge fan but will make things happen more than the others)

We always draw our friendlies with average sides, about as good as us, this match will probably be no different.
