Maybe not that bad, but it's not good.

I ordered 256k DDR to add to the 128 I already have.
It arrived today, I put it in, and the pc hasn't detected it.

I swapped the 2 sticks over (put them in each others' bays) to hopefully locate (or fix) the problem, and the computer's still only picking up 128k.

Is there anything I can try to fix it? Maybe I've done something wrong?
Or should I just send it back for some new stuff?

Just send it back, and order a new 256MB atick of RAM. 512MB ones are going for £40-odd on ebay.

Hmm. When its fitted correctly, the next time you run the computer and open Control Panel > System, the RAM should be registered there, right?

I think I fitted it right.. I put the catches up myself though, I bottled it when the motherboard began to bend!

I'll give it another go without the other ram in a minute.

Thanks.

I fitted new RAM yesterday, and I had the same problem.

I hadn't pushed it in far enough. I didn't realise you have to be REALLY firm with the memory. Make sure it's pushed in so the plastic clips pop up (Push as either end to avoide breaking in teh middle)

Oh, and if that doesn't fix it, then, I don't know... ;)

Try the new memory on it's own without the other stick in, if that does not work then more than likely the memory is faulty.
