I just got broadband and ive done what it has told me to do, but everytime i try to connect, it says failed to connect to remote computer and i havnt got a clue what that means, then i clicked on whats wrong with it to check if there is something wrong with the modem, but i found out something is wrong with my line.

Does anyone know how to get me on broadband?

Has BT converted your line yet?

It can take up to 10 working days...

Hmm, do they use your phone line or cable? I'm not sure. If they use your phone line, it will take 10 working days for BT to convert your line to be DSL compatible. This will be 10 working days from when you signed up.

If it's cable, I'm not sure, someone else better answer that one.

I had trouble with my Broadband. Activation was 5th March and I followed instructions but still got no signal from the line.

My Broadband supplier arranged for BT to contact me and they sent an engineer out. He knew exactly what the problem was going to be and came prepared.

There was a tiny white box next to the main incoming line box which filters out the radio waves. Unfortunately it also stopped the broadband connection from reaching my modem. It might possibly be that.

Aiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeee

Welcome to the ISP of the damned...

I'd suggest searching around on the internet, try the forums at www.adslguide.org before you ring Tiscali's line - they charge 50p a minute and, in my experience, use an Indian call centre. I'll clarify that; I have nothing against Indians specifically, just call centres in developing countries manned by staff who are incompetent and obstructive, and have difficulties with harder english words.
