As a master of the situation, let me impart some wisdon.

Water. Lots of it. The first time you need to pee, stop drinking. If you can, get something salty to eat like a bacon buttie. The salt helps you get some minerals that were bleached out back into your system. The bread will settle an upset stomach.

If youcan get to a pub, have a bloody mary with celery and tabasco. Its a cliche, but it actually does work.

DONT DRINK COFFEE. [edit] or any soft drinks in a large volume. You'll get the shakes. If not from caffeine, then from sugar.

Keep your head down, and try and do work that involves not talking to anybody (not always possile)

I'm having a turkey breast and salad roll that I got from the sandwich man, that should do it, should I avoid tea then?

I think you're a bit mad, you. If I ask for that in a pub round here I'll get kicked out...

Can I not just have a pint?

Oh, just read this bit about the caffeine, ignore the above!

Strange you say that cos I was a bit hungover yesterday and I was shaking and felt like I was gonna faint, and I think that was cos I'd had so much sugar the night before.

All I wanna do is talk! I'm not hungover I really am still drunk, it's funny but I don't think anyone else thinks so!

So do you do this often?

It'll help, quite a bit. A bacon butty is best though.

Yeah, that'll do, but a bloody mary gets all the things your body needs in one fell swoop.

Aye, thats the reason.

Ahhhh, but it'll start wearing off soon. The faster you can preempt the hangover, the less s'ite you'll feel.

I used to stop drinking at 3am and start work at 6am

Needless to say I had many horrible experiences of sobering up through my shift.

Are you serious?

I feel like that, it's my dirty little secret!

I try so hard not to let people know how much I drink, actually not even how much I drink, how much I base my life around drinking, how much I plan every day not to drink and then the afternoon comes and I'm not dying for a drink, but I really fancy one, and then I usually give in. Plus I love being around people and having a laugh, so it's a lot about that (I'm not trying to convince myself, honest)

Same here. If I drank during the week, I'd be an alcoholic. Simple as that. I binge drink, and I binge drink quite badly (last weekend, over 32 cans of lager, the pub on the Saturday night, and out Sunday night)
I don't NEED it to get through the day or function, but if its the weekend, I love to get p'''ed, sometimes to the point of blacking out.

At least I'm off the drugs now. :)

(BTW, I'm not intending to boast AT ALL here, just saying it like (my life) it is/was)

I've cut back. I got worried a while back of how much I used to drink, can't actually afford it this weekend.

Yeah, I'm skint this weekend, and so a quiet one is one the cards. Still, Its amazing how *well* you feel on a Monday morning, if the weekend *hasn't* been spent drinking.

Anyway, I've got a mates phone to flash, and I can't do that drunk. I might end up knacking it............
