Hey,
I was wondering if there are any ways of restoring Windows XP from ms-dos or the recovery console. I am unable to get into windows or boot from safe mode, and i was wondering if i can restore my files using a system restore through dos or the recovery console.
Thanks
James

frankly if ur Windows is so messed up the data that System Restore would get back may not make ur PC any better. If it has come to this try and back up stuff and wipe it. Sry.

I don't think you would be able to use DOS because it can't access NTFS formatted hard drives. Not sure about the recovery console.

One idea would be to boot from the windows CD and then repair the installation.
