i got a nice new desktop pc, i love it. As im a student in college i thought i will get a laptop. My mates laptop lasts 3 hours on battery (but his laptop aint very nice).

I was wonderin if all laptops only have 3 hours battery, knowin me ill use it more than 3 little hours a day..

can anyone help?

What I do is bring the power supply with me, so whenever I see a power point I'll use that instead. But I don't need it much anyway, only for looking at porn to keep me awake during lectures.

Depends what you use it for, and the spec of your laptop. Pentium 4 desktop CPUs in a laptop guzzle through battery power rather quickly, moreso if you're playing Call Of Duty. As a rule, the more of your PC you use, the faster your battery runs down.

All laptops come with Power Management features, so doing things like switching the monitor off after a minute of non activity will conserve power. Low voltage CPUs, such as the Pentium M and Athlon XP-M, do well to save power also.
