To me, looking at what we've got now, do we really need a next generation leap, especially at this point in time. There are many great games scheduled for the years in which the Current generation are gearing up to go to War - and I can't help feeling, will the games be neglected?
There's also the problem of inconvenience, at first they said the Next Generation of consoles would just be chips to add to the current consoles, but now we have to go through the process of buying another console and worry about that same problem of storage blah, blah, blah
I'm guessing this next generation leap won't come cheaply either, probably into the upper regions of the two - three hundreds? (at first) Nintendo is a good console but has been lagging behind the PS2 and Xbox for quite some time, are all these price cuts perhaps because they're already more worried about the next step in the consoles than the next?!
The graphics might be better and there will probably be a host of add-ons, it's just I'm quite happy with the consoles as they are, I realise I don't have to join the leap but if I don't the consoles we're playing now will become older and harder to buy new games for or repair.
Soon after they've been released I'll get used to them and realise I've been missing the graphics all my life, but, in this brief period of understanding before I go on and spend more money in this 'latest-greatest' society, I'd like to just get this ranting post of my chest and just wonder ... Is the next step really necessary ?
Feel free to comment on this post and give your opinions, I know it's a bit ranting but that's life

It's not needed.
Only Ninty seem to realise that there's a limit - and in terms of graphics, we've pretty much reached it now. I doubt things can get massively better between PS3 and 4 or whatever.
So they're trying to make a real difference.
Possibly shooting themselves in the face at the same time - what with this terrible talk of voice recognition rubbish and the like - but it's the way things must go.
