There is one major point that I disagree with though- that the Dolphin is the future. I accept that games on the Dolphin, especially those made by Nintendo, will be great, but why wait 2 years for a console when there is already a console made for gamers- the Dreamcast. By the end of this year, the Dreamcast will have the best racers- F355, Sega GT, Metropolis Street Racer- the best Beat 'em ups- Soul Calibur, DOA2 (european and Japanese versions), and all of Capcom's stuff- great horror games- Resident Evil, Dino Crisis- as well as a fully functional online network. In addition, as developers finally realise that not enough money is being made on the PS2 games, they will support the only other next gen console that is out- the Dreamcast.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a great Nintendo fan. I owned an N64 myself, and am rebuying one to play Perfect Dark on. However, the Dolphin is coming out too late, and in a world with 7 new consoles (4 of them being any good) developers will switch to making money on the consoles already out. (NB. If anyone wants to know what the 7 consoles are, here's a list: Dreamcast, PS2, Dolphin, Xbox, Nuon, Samsung thing, and the Linux based machine.) Unlike hardcore Nintendo fans, most casual gamers cannot be bothered to wait, and will just get a PS2 when they come out in stores. I think a majority of Dolphin owners will be hardcore gamers, since they are the only ones who would buy more than one console- I myself may buy one if the games are up to Nintendo's usual excellence.
