What would you place a tax on? Or how would you change an existing tax?
For example, some may say that really fat people should pay more for clothes, as they use more material.
I think that car tax should be changed so that you pay for the amount of space your car takes up on the road. So Smart cars pay less than those bloody great BMW Landrover Jeep type things that are a f###### pain in the rear. They're desgined to drive up mountains. So quite why people in Essex (possibly the flattest part of the world. Ever.) need to have one to take little Jimmy to school I have no idea....

I'd rein in most 'stealth' taxes and stuff, maybe trim it to income, VAT, motor/petrol and possibly death (well, inheritance, but death tax sounds better :^) ).

I heard somewhere the DVLA were planning on dropping car tax altogether and upping the prices of fuel, therefore cornering the Tax cheating lot.
I think that's a good idea. YH, the vehicle-size tax is also a good idea, those huge Canyoneros aren't really necessary for the uses so evident in everyday life.
