Not so sure where this topic belongs but anyway, I've really been wanting one of these for ages, especially those new mini ones that have just come out recently (check out the apple store)... So, does anybody know where I can get one dead cheap, even from America?

Yup, you can store files on them fairly easily.

My 15Gb iPod has roughly 6-7 Gb of AAC-encoded songs, and about 2Gb's of data.

Not bad really.

Can ipods be used for file storage?

Get it off ebay.com

Im considering getting a 9800XT in this way.

Just make sure the seller is prepared to mark the item as a gift and to also lower the monetary value of the item on the customs form.

Not bad prices. Got $200 in cash to take and hoping I can take another $600 in Travellers cheques. So should have $800 in total to spend. Wont be spending too much on attractions etc as we are getting a pass which gives free entry to all the major places. Only big thing I know I will get is a helicopter ride which is something like $100-150. So might get a iPod especially if its saving a lot of money from the UK price.

Didn't see that, But Visa DB Cards work the same as credit and accepted in allthe same places.

BTW, Apple will not ship to a country outside of it's native store. You can't order an iPod for the HK store and have it shipped to the UK. They'll make you use the UK price!

If you do it from an apple dealer in the states its:

15GB@ $299 - +\-£173
iPod Mini@ $249 - +/- £139

All sales tax included!
