Cracker? I doubt it is
I heard that they haven't made it a spoof just a serious modern take on the T.V. series with comedy which lets it down because it could have been done brilliantly as a spoof but a mix of the two doesn't seem to work apparently.

you've got to be kidding me. The original was played straight, this is obviously played for laughs.
Edit - Its in no way a spoof or lampoon of the original, but its not "a serious modern take" by any stretch of the imagination.

I've read reviews saying it is between bad and average. Just looks like Owen and Stiller gurning for an hour and a half.
Total Film gave it 4/5 in the new issue. It looks like it could be quite good as long as you don't take it too seriously, which you are not supposed too. I was never a fan of the original if I'm honest, but I do want to see this "prequel"
