I have been told by a friend that the price of the Nintendo Dolphin will be considerably low, Nintendo contacts have let loose that there will be no modem or dvd playing facility within the Dolphin but that it could cast as little as £60. The console will play great games and great games only. I think that this is how Nintendo feel about the gamers of today. If they wanted a modem or internet access the only real way to enjoy it is through your PC so nintendo feel that people want their console to play quick games and have simple fun.

I heard there would be a normal dolphin with game capabilities and internet and a deluxe one that features a DVD movie player as well.

The Dolphin will be released in 2 forms in Japan. First there will be the "Nintendo one" which will just play games. This will not play DVDs, and sources inside nintendo say that it will have no modem- probably a good thing. The price will be about £100 at release, which is phenominally low, and will probably cost £150 to start off with over here.

The second one is the "Panasonic one", which will play games, DVDs and may have a modem, but news on that is scarce at the moment. This will cost much more, and may only be released in Japan as Panasonic don't know whether it would do well in the West.

Both consoles will be manufactured by Panasonic and have an IBM chip.
