Ok, ok, the bugs bunny topic made me think about drugs in cartoons, mainly the Mario Brothers. The amount of drug references in the tv show and in the games are astounding, here is the list;
Mario eats mushrooms to get bigger- We all know that Magic mushrooms contain a powerful hallucinogenic which is a from of LSD.
Mario eats a leaf and is able to turn into a raccoon and fly- A leaf? I recall Black Sabbath making a song called sweet leaf which is obviously Cannabis.
Mario eats a flower and is able to throw fireballs- Once again some flowers in parts of the world are powerful enough to make you feel as though you are burning, hence the fireball thing.
Mario eats a star and he becomes invincible- Some drugs have been named after things such as stars and other celestial bodies, this is a reference to Ectasy.
There are probably a few more and if any of you guys and girls can think of references in cartoons to drugs or anything weird and illegal then post it here.
