OK, I have only watched a few episodes. The first I was unsure - the second I was rolling around in bed giggling my ass off at the voice of the one with the afro?

Now this completely new strand of comedy can either flop or make it. What are your opinions?

Its probably a little like marmite - you either love it or you hate it.

I have heard it be compared to the likes of other unique comedy hit Bo selecta.

Personally I think the style and techniques used are intelligent indeed. The dubbing of voices making it tacky - slow mo... the chats with the Author and gay looking actors!

The cheap way they have done it is funny, to me. The use of models for the darkplace and helicopters.

Anyway I skimmed ever so briefly to check a post hadnt already been created on this topic so please

discuss!

I love ya all lilGinge!

It's the way that Thornton Reed picks up the phone AFTER saying 'hello' that gets me, and the moody endings.

Check out http://www.garthmarenghi.com/darkplace/ for more official madness.

They should have saved these for the inevitable release on DVD. Then they would be quite good special features. Mockumentary stylee. Don't know why I just typed that.

I'd also love to see who they cheapified TM the look of the show and came up with the not so special effects.

And I want to hear their "normal" voices.

The two things that made me laugh first time seeing it were the helicopter in the eye child episode and when Gareth Merengi is running with that baby and the ambulence xeplodes behind him.
That flip made me laugh.

It was a bit dissapointing in the middle - the 1st 2 and last episodes were brilliant, though.
Although the opening credits make me laugh the most.

'based on melodies originally whistled by Garth Merenghi.'

And that song was genius.
