DESAILLY TO QATAR

"Chelsea defender Marcel Desailly is considering quitting English football to sign a lucrative contract in Qatar. The Frenchman, who will be allowed to walk away from the club with a year left on his current deal at the end of the season, visited the Middle East last week - where former team mate Frank Leboeuf is playing for Qatari side Al Sadd - to listen to offers."

So, like the majority of today's ever-ageing has-beens who knows their career will soon be coming to an end, Marcel Desailly looks set to follow-suit on his way to the Middle-East; just like Batistuta, Rivaldo and all the others.

But, if it's money he wants, then what the heck is wrong with staying under Roman Abramovich's wing?!

Granted, there is much better weather to be had over there...
But, does this suggest that, perhaps, Mr.Abramovich isn't quite as rich as we have all been led to believe??

Or, is this a new breed of modern-day, money-grabbing prima-dona - a player who WANTS to PLAY football, also, no matter how-many millions he earns in a day???

Still, I think he's one player Chelski would have a problem replacing...

Chelsea won't have a problem replacing him. Well, they haven't so far this season - I've hardly seen him play.

Gallas and Terry are fine.

chelski won't have a trouble replacing him, they don't need to. gallas and terry are good enough. abram and kenyon will no doubt buy though.

if you watch sky sports 1, there's this thing called football asia. worth a watch once, because they always mention the qatarii leagues - money/people/development etc.
