I'm 18 (19 next week) but i closed the door to the computer room so i didn't make too much noise if i decided to turn on some music but my mum woke up and said 'Can't i check what my son is doing?'
I have a feeling she thinks I'm doing 'something' and looking at porn no doubt.. anyone ever had that?

When I was up in the attic, obviously I didn't even have a door, but I had enough warning from people coming into this room (where the PC is) and climbing up the ladder.

My sister was in the other room, which had a lock on it. She moved out, I moved into her room because being in the attic is a big hassle. My parents took the lock off the door... I asked why, they said because my sister needed it and I didn't... I didn't bother pursuing it, as it would look suspicious, but they obviously thought I had something to hide and that me having no lock on my door was an advantage to them. Weirdos. Of course, they also think I'm mugging old ladies to pay for my underage, crack addicted, pregnant girlfriend to get an abortion.

My computer is in my room in an alcove beside my bed. A nice handy place to have it.

My room is fit just for me everyone hates the way its set out but thats what makes it better.

My door blocks no sound at all.
Solution - headphones.
But alas, they still think I'm doing something when I pull my headphones off quickly and look straight at them as they walk in.

"What were you doing?"
"Nothing."
"..."
"No, really, I was listening to some music."
"*nods* Oh, well, Harry what's his name's on."
"Hill?"
"No."
"The TV burp or something."
"Nice one, mother."

Or whatever.

My mum should be getting a laptop next week, and i should be getting my own PC next week. Thank god for next week.

Mine is on my lap wherever I happen to decide to sit.

Mines next to a window wall (it used to be a patio window sliding thing, but we've had an extention so it's now just a glass wall) which on the other side of this window wall is the living room=parents looking through window at any time. Damn.

My PC is in the worse possible place. It is in front of the bathroom door, beside the living room door, below the stairs and in front of the hall to the kitchen, so I have NO privacy.
